Tour itinerary

Arrival at Lisbon Airport at the scheduled time of 7am. Boarding formalities for flight to São Tomé and Príncipe. Welcome by our representative guide and immediate transfer to the hotel. Assistance from our guide on this first day to make the exchange. We will exchange euros for Dobras.

Dinner not included at a nice restaurant in town.

Face-to-face support from our guide throughout the trip.

Magical Deep North and Blue Lagoon. In the past, São Tomé was recognised worldwide as the Chocolate Island. Today we cross extensive fields of plantations and cultivation, including sugar cane, to reach the sweetest and most unique flavour of São Tomé's cocoa fruit. We will visit a cocoa co-operative to learn about all the production processes until the cocoa is ready to be turned into chocolate. The fermentation, cleaning and drying process, as well as the manual sorting work carried out by the women of the co-operative. This visit costs €4 per person.

We continued along the route of the Embondeiros, known in Africa as Baobabs. But since everything is even more beautiful and magical here in São Tomé, they have been given the name Micondó. Prepare your heart because we're going to see Roças, beaches and idyllic landscapes.

Breakfast at the hotel. We cross the town of Guadalupe until we reach the district of Lembá. Here we see the falcons watching the coast. Our tour takes us to Anambó, the mythical place where the navigators João de Santarém and Pêro Escobar landed on 21 December 1470 (St Thomas's Day) at the behest of King Afonso V of Portugal to explore the west coast of Africa.

Here you can admire the Padrão do Descobrimento (Discovery Monument), erected at the behest of the ruling authorities to mark the arrival of the Portuguese navigators in São Tomé.

We continue along the legendary most beautiful road in the world with a mandatory stop at the Santa Catarina Tunnel. We return with a stop at the incredible blue lagoon. Free time for an unforgettable first dive. Lunch not included at a local restaurant.

In the afternoon, visit the village of Morro Peixe and the famous Roça Agostinho Neto. Return to the hotel. Accommodation and dinner at a nice restaurant in town.

This day will be a real thrill ride. We'll cross the island to the south, also known as the Coconut Route or the Tropical Route. It's sure to be a day of many surprises, as we'll get to know the southern side of the island, with incredible visits to the largest laundry in the world, Roça Água Izé, Boca do Inferno and Pico do Cão grande.

After breakfast, we'll make our first stop at the largest laundry in the world. At the mouth of the River Abbot, hundreds of women wash clothes by hand. An incredible moment back in time.

We'll learn about the history of a visionary from São Tomé who dignified this nation, leaving a priceless legacy to our current society and his vision of the world at Roça Água Izé. Afterwards, we'll drink coconut water at the Boca do Inferno Geological Heritage Site, a must-see in these parts. Free lunch at a local restaurant.

We continue our adventure with the opportunity to appreciate the grandiose forest and volcanic landscapes. Highlights include the viewpoint of Pico do Cão-Grande and the Malanza River. Here we find the true meaning of Paradise. Reception at the Inhame Eco Resort. Accommodation at the Ecolodge Inhame with dinner included.

Hotel Inhame is the only hotel in the South with the minimum comfort requirements. It is an eco-resort set in nature that respects the ecosystem. There is no hairdryer in this hotel. And hot water in the shower only from 18h00 to 21h00.

Take it easy, don't jump to conclusions. Live the experience bearing in mind that the bungalows are simple, but they're 20 metres from a sea with waters of 27, 28, 29 degrees.

Paradise and the Equator. Lunch and dinner included on this day.

Pinch yourself. Yes! We're going to the Rolas Islet. After breakfast, we take the boat across to the Rolas Islet. Once again, at the light pace of the island, we head a little further south under the tepid waters of the Gulf of Guinea until we reach Ilhéu das Rolas. Lunch and dinner included on this day.

This day is dedicated to the discovery of Ilhéu das Rolas. We'll have the opportunity to be in both hemispheres of the earth, see the Equator and have lunch at a local restaurant.

At the appointed time... we return to the hotel. Dinner and accommodation at the Ecolodge Inhame.

(This is a simple lunch. It won't be a meal like in a normal restaurant. We have lunch there to enjoy the beach and the community. Even so, we'll always have a good grilled fish and the right accompaniments).

Breakfast and dinner included at the hotel.

Far beyond your imagination, today at 9am we start a walk of 3 kilometres in total. Accompanied by our experienced local guide, we'll discover the empire of coconut and palm trees and get to know São Tomé's greatest trade: the Vinhateiro.

In lands where Judas seems to have lost his boots 😊 we'll get to know various organic crops such as pineapple, manioc, yams, coconut, vanilla, Mata Bala and others.

Highlights include one of the most beautiful beaches in the world, Pool Beach. Free time to relax on these dreamy spots and enjoy the beach. Return to the hotel with the rest of the afternoon free.

Free day to relax in this paradise. Breakfast and dinner included at the hotel.

Lunch on the farm with the pots. We start our journey back to the capital with stops at other tourist attractions. This day's highlight is the Mirador do Rio Cauê. In one of the fascinating places on this route, we go to a hidden beach. Here we find a mirror of water reflecting the imposing Pico do Cão Grande. It's time for one last dip on the big beach.

Very close by and crossing the large palm plantation, we find the Ribeira Peixe waterfall next to the fishing beach. A photographic moment in an unforgettable setting.

At lunchtime, we crossed the city of Angolares to reach the Roça of chef João Carlos Silva, the famous chef from the programme Na Roça com os Tachos.

Get ready for a festival of flavours at this delicious gourmet lunch, which is also included in our fantastic expedition. Continue to the city. Accommodation.

Although it's the Coffee Route, on this day we'll also do a chocolate tasting. Thinking of people who want to bring back souvenirs, we've made this day a visit to the chocolate factory precisely so that the chocolates don't melt during the days of the trip.

Our expedition never ceases to amaze! On this last day, an adventure awaits us in the centre of the island. Breakfast at the hotel and departure to discover the Coffee Route.

This is the greenest place on São Tomé Island, and it was here that coffee plantations began at an altitude of 800 metres, just above the small town of Trindade. A highlight is the Roça de Monte Café, where you can learn about all the stages of coffee production by visiting the museum. The visit is optional and costs €3 per person. For lovers of good food, wine, poetry and silence, there is also a moment of pure pleasure at the farewell lunch in the Almada Negreiros museum restaurant. Farewell lunch included.

Return to the city for a chocolate tasting at the Roça Diogo Vaz shop. Last moments for the transfer to the airport. Return by regular flight with boarding formalities scheduled for 20.30.

It's a different return.

This return home brings an insistent smile. A chill always comes over me as I relive the memories and recollections of this adventure in the marvellous islands. With a night flight and dinner service on board, we are scheduled to arrive in Lisbon at 5.30am. End of our services.

São Tomé and Príncipe is an incredible destination that offers unique experiences all year round, making it an ideal place to visit in any season.

For those who love the tropical climate, this country, being close to the equator, maintains an average temperature of 25 to 28 degrees Celsius throughout the year. The constant climate is perfect for beach lovers, and you'll always find a sunny spot to relax by the sea.

The rainy season, from October to May, offers spectacular scenery. The rains revitalise the vegetation and make the forests even more lush. This is also the best time for birdwatchers, as many species are active during this period. And don't worry, the rains are usually short and intense, leaving plenty of room for the sun to shine.

On the other hand, the dry season, which runs from June to September, is ideal for adventurers. Trails and hikes are more accessible and the days are generally longer, giving you more time to explore the beautiful landscape.

If you're looking for local culture and traditions, then any time of year is ideal for your visit. Festivals and cultural events take place throughout the year, such as the São Tomé Music Festival in July and Independence Day in July.

So whatever month you choose, your trip to São Tomé and Príncipe will be full of memorable experiences. This country's charms are not limited to one season or time of year, making it a perfect destination in any season.

São Tomé and Príncipe is a fantastic and safe option for those wishing to explore Africa. This charming island country is known for its quiet and friendly atmosphere, providing a peaceful and relaxing travelling experience.

The people are warm and welcoming, and tourists generally report feeling safe when exploring the cities and countryside. The healthcare system in São Tomé and Príncipe is adequate, and there are a good number of doctors and clinics available.
