Riu Jambo Zanzibar All Inclusive: 8 Days with Flights from Lisbon
Eight days in Zanzibar at Riu Jambo, all inclusive, with flights from Lisbon, transfers and assistance insurance, from €1,049 per person.
Why Riu Jambo Zanzibar
At Nungwi the tide goes out far less than on the east coast, so you can swim throughout the day, a detail that makes all the difference in Zanzibar. The water is 26–29 °C all year, and the resort has pools, restaurants and entertainment for anyone who just wants beach and rest. It is our best-value beach holiday.Beyond the resort: Stone Town and the spice route
Less than an hour away is Stone Town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, with its maze of coral-stone streets, carved doors and Darajani market. There is also Prison Island with its giant tortoises, the Safari Blue on a traditional dhow and the spice route: cloves, nutmeg, cinnamon and vanilla. These excursions are optional and booked locally, as you wish. When to go and price

Flight from Lisbon to Zanzibar. On arrival at Abeid Amani Karume International Airport, assistance and transfer to Riu Jambo, on the island's north-east coast. The all-inclusive plan starts at check-in: meals, drinks and hotel activities are already included.
A first day with nothing planned, to adjust to the time and get to know the resort. Nungwi beach has white sand and water between 26 °C and 29 °C all year; the tide goes out a long way during the day, and this northern part of the island is where you can still swim at low tide — unlike the east coast.
Guided excursion to Stone Town, the historic centre of Zanzibar City and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. You walk through the coral-stone alleys, the old slave market and the Anglican cathedral built on top of it, the Old Fort, the House of Wonders and Zanzibar's famous carved doors. Time at Darajani market, among spices, fruit and fish.
Boat trip to Prison Island (Changuu), a few minutes from Stone Town. The prison never actually held prisoners and was used as a quarantine hospital; today the island is known for its colony of Aldabra giant tortoises, some over a century old. Time for snorkelling on the reef by the island.
A Safari Blue day on board a traditional dhow, the wooden sailing boat used on this coast for centuries. Sailing across Menai Bay, snorkelling stops on the reefs, a walk across a sandbank that only appears at low tide and a grilled seafood lunch on a deserted beach.
Tour of the spice plantations in the island's interior, the reason Zanzibar became known as the Spice Island. Tasting and identifying cloves, nutmeg, cinnamon, vanilla, pepper and cardamom straight from the tree, with an explanation of how each is grown and used.
Last full day with nothing planned, to enjoy the beach and the resort's facilities. It is the day for a dive, a walk through the fishing village of Nungwi or simply doing nothing at all.
Free morning until check-out. Transfer to Zanzibar airport and return flight to Lisbon.
