Day-by-day itinerary
TAP flight from Lisbon at 09:35, arriving in São Tomé at 17:00. Met by our guide and transfer to Emoyeni Gardens. Welcome dinner included at a restaurant in town.
Up into the centre of the island: the town of Trindade, the market and Roça Monte Café (museum visit not included). Lunch included at the Restaurante Museu Almada Negreiros, at the former Roça Saudade. Return to Emoyeni Gardens.
Visit to a cocoa cooperative (€4 per person, paid locally), the village of Guadalupe and Lagoa Azul, with time for a swim. Lunch at a restaurant with a view and visit to Roça Agostinho Neto. Return to Emoyeni Gardens.
Drive to the south of the island: the mouth of the Abade river, Roça Água Izé, Boca do Inferno and the Pico Cão Grande viewpoint. Overnight at Inhame Ecolodge, with dinner.
Boat crossing to Ilhéu das Rolas, in Gago Coutinho's footsteps, with one foot in each hemisphere at the equator monument. Lunch at a local restaurant on the islet. Christmas dinner included at Inhame Ecolodge.
A walk through the farmland of the south to the famous Praia Piscina. Free afternoon. Dinner and overnight at Inhame Ecolodge.
Return to the capital, stopping at the Rio Cauê viewpoint and the Ribeira Peixe waterfall. Gourmet lunch at chef João Carlos Silva's plantation in São João dos Angolares. Overnight at Welfare Roça Santa Luzia.
Walk to the Cascata Milagrosa waterfall, the town centre, the market, Praça da Independência and Fort São Sebastião (exterior). Chocolate tasting. Transfer to the airport at 17:00.
Expected arrival in Lisbon at 04:00. End of our services.
